RUN to your nearest TARGET!! Updated!!

(FYI you know if you don't like my choice of music you can always scroll down and put a PAUSE on the playlist. otherwise just set back and listen. the current song is on my running playlist.)

I know, I know!! I have been MIA. Lots. going. on.  people. LOTS! I promise to explain later.  But for now you have to run to your nearest Target and get yourself a $2.50 Boot Tray. Then RUN to your nearest dollar store and pick yourself up a couple bags of rocks!! I promise you will thank me. It will totally complete your entry... I know it did mine.

I have seriously been swooning over the picture below for; I am not sure how long now. I think it's the mixture of the leopard print coat and the fancy 410 or 12 gauge setting in the corner. ( I assure you the littlest punk and I had a very extensive conversation on just what we thought that gun might be)

It just seems to be the perfect picture of my life.

Here are a few more examples, just in case I need to convince you to get your run in today. By the way I have been doing a lot of that lately... I digress. Or maybe just in mind. I see there are not as nearly as many words on the screen as I thought I had typed. I am telling you... A LOT going on.

Well, what are you doing? Get running to Target before they are all gone. I know that dollar section goes fast. Just don't let this happen to you.

Now if I could only find $2.50 Hunter leopard print boots.... I found some nice leopard print rain boots at Wal-Mart!! Woot Woot!

New Year and Old Traditions

We will start our New Year with an old tradition. New Years Eve we will pullout all of the magazines, scissors, glue and the 8x10 sheet of paper. We will cut out all of the pictures that inspire us, or words that inspire us and go along with our list of goals.  Then we will start gluing all of our goals on it. We call it a GOAL BOARD. Next we hang them where we can see them everyday. It makes it easier to visualize. Maybe, you remember me talking about these goal boards back in my post about the Mercedes. YEP, she was on my goal board for years!! Sometimes it takes us a while to reach those goals. BUT you keep them in front of you, and you will attain them.

This is my 2011 Goal Board.

I loved this part of Punk #1's Goal Board

This is Punk#2's Goal Board. How did I miss the reptile in the upper right hand corner?? Should have known we would end up with some creepy crawly creature by the end of the year. We also went on a Dirt Bag vacation in the mountains. He is good!!

In my nightstand drawer, I have a list of the goals I want to accomplish each year. When I get up, I read them. This year, I am going to make it a habit to read them before bed as well. You wanna know what is on my list this year?? Well I really do not have any, besides reading them day and night :).  3 so far. (get to and maintain my goal weight, read one book a month, and my financial goal) Usually there are baby steps outlined on this sheet as well . I average about 80 written goals a year. From that I usually accomplish about 52%. Gotta know your numbers people.

This year I am going to do it a little different.  My goal board for the most part will probably be blank. I am starting my year off with a 21 day fast. I am looking for clarity this year. I want real focus, real intent. I want change, I want movement. I will start this year out with a personal written prayer. I thought last year was hard... Lets see what God has in store for me this year.

For now. I will focus on what was accomplished this year.
  • Brokers License. BIG FAT CHECK!!! That had a ton of baby steps along the way.
  • Open a brokerage. We did it. Then we sold it back to our partners... heartbreak. That was not in the steps :/
  • 1/2 marathon... oops a no go. BUT I did run the Ragnar with no injuries this year !! Again many baby steps to get there.  Pat on the back. I am also heading up my own team for 2012. We have a really fun name. BUT it's a secret. I'll tell when we get closer.

Middle of the Night giggles. We were delirious.

  • Simplify. Oh, you bet I did. Should have taken a before and after. I have got rid of a lot of STUFF. Still getting rid of STUFF. With this goal I realized something else. My LOVE for stuff is leaving me. It is really freeing. So, my question for 2012. What do I do with this new found freedom?
  • LOVE. Yeah, believe it or not. This was a goal. I went into 2011 a little jaded. Maybe that is why my year was so strange... I decided to LOVE. Lot's of heart work this year.  Thank you JESUS.
  • Debt Free. We took the biggest step!! No more Mercedes.

How about you? Did you meet your goals? Do you break them down so they are attainable? Do you refer back to them through out the year? Will you do something different this year? Or keep them the same? Whats your life vision? What will you do this year to make a difference? Yeah, I don't yet either... I'll keep  you posted.

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. Proverbs 29:18

Checklist: The only way to get over a cold

I am well organized efficient and effective. That's what I tell the drunk monkey each day when I get out of bed. It works too. Well that and checklists. That's right people I am a checklist kind of gal. I have a checklist for everything. Sticky notes are my friends and I still use the old school day planner.

The little stripey thing in the corner... my office dog. Always at my feet.

Yes, even a checklist for weekly house cleaning
First it keeps me in check. Ha. I know where my day is going and what I have to accomplish. It also feels so great when I can check something off my list. Needless to say I am pretty organized except for the basement which we have already discussed. When things are not efficient it drives me crazy, I usually do one of two things when this happens. I either command control, do it myself (not always the best route. It tends to hurt others feelings). Or I do nothing. Maybe that is why the basement is the way it is. I have no control over other peoples garbage in my basement...

Random Lists I use on a Daily Basis

Today however has found me not so efficient. I am sick!!! This rarely happens. Last night while checking off the last thing to do for the day, I got a horrible sore throat. Out of nowhere. I thought. Must be allergies, to come on so sudden. Got a throat lozenge and finished my to do's. It got worse. I took some Nyquil and off to bed I went. I woke up in the middle of the night with a screaming, red sore throat. What is a girl to do? That's right. I started a checklist. It goes a little something like this.

  • Vitamins
  • Good Tunes
  • Water
  • 10 minute pick up of the house ( I can't rest in this mess. Anyone else like that?)
  • Coffee
  • 1 load of laundry
  • Make 5 phone calls to make sure this closing is on track
  • Email the Negotiator
  • TheraFlu
  • Report Green Tree Lending for predatory lending (yeah, I am going to do this. They are ridiculous. Stay away from them at all costs)
  • Hot  Peppermint Tea with Milk and Honey
  • Orange Juice Over Ice
  • Nap
  • Sprite
  • Fold laundry
  • Chicken Soup in a cup with Synthetic Croutons
  • Box of Tissues
  • Symphony Bar
  • Chocolate Chip Cookies (don't judge, I like junk when I am sick)
  • Wish I could find Candy Corn Hershey kisses
  • Lots of chick flicks on Netflix
  • Nap
  • Kick this by 3:00 so we can do homework and I can make it to my 6:00 appointment
  • Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese
  • Hot Bath
  • Lemon, Honey and Bourbon
  • To Bed Early
I  am telling you. I WILL make it to my 6:00 tonight. This checklist is going to work and I am going to be myself by the end of this day!

Maybe that's why I like Pinterest so much... lots of "lists"
